What’s new on 23.5.2018 – Announcement and Support

1. HKDRC 40th Green Half Marathon 2018 – Still The Race I Love, confirmed to be held on 18 November 2018 (Sunday)

2. We are proud to have Xtra8 Nature Mineral Water – Live & Love Group Ltd’s confirmation to be the title sponsor for the Green Half Marathon 2018. Xtra8 Nature Mineral Water is a fresh and brand new product in the drinking market suitable for Athletes of all age. Xtra8 Nature Mineral Water – Live & Love Group Ltd., is directly supporting the Green Management project that our Club undertook ‘Waste Reduction and Recycling’ in the event. Xtra8 Nature Mineral Water – Live & Love Group Ltd., support and dedicate to make our event Greener and more sustainable in the field of running.

3. We are also proud to have co-sponsors Skechers HK Ltd., Charming Trim Co. Ltd., Logo Printing Co. Ltd., SEAM Sports Ltd. and Running Biji 運動筆記. Other companies include Nature’s Village, DKSH ( Salonsip 撒隆適 ) are considering support and will notify us very soon.

4. The HKDRC 40th Green Half Marathon 2018 shall be re-name as HKDRC – Xtra8 40th Green Half Marathon 2018. No change of course route and we have obtained Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department approval permit for holding the event. We will strive our best effort to get approval from STKRC, Police NTN, TPDO and TD on our application for temporary road closure for 3hours from 6:30am to 9:30am on 18 November 2018.

5. The organizing work includes design and coordination of online registration is in good progress. We aimed to commence the online registration and the mail registration on early August 2018. The design of event poster and entry form are scheduled to be completed for upload on web sites at www.hkdrc.org and www.xtra8.com.

6. As a commitment in the field of running, we aim to make our Half Marathon as green as we can by giving out sustainable souvenirs and prizes, cutting down as much as possible unnecessary waste, introducing the opportunity from runners to recycle clothing on site, provide free bus shuttles to the race venue from designated stations in Hong Kong, and lots more.

7. Green Work for Green Race – We are moving forward to support waste reduction and recycling at the community level. We will coordinate with Xtra8 Nature Mineral Water – Live & Love Group Ltd., team to collect back the plastic water bottles from runners at the race venue. The collected plastic water bottles will be delivered to the Community Green Station ( CGS ) 綠在東區 at No. 30, Oi Shun Road, Shau Kei Wan, Hong Kong for recycle.

8. Green Work for Green race – We support the Government project on development of Hiking and have done up to 50nos HKDRC’s Green Running and Hiking Routes covering all urban areas of Hong Kong and Macau.
